Athletics reflection

hello yesterday 23.11.16 we did athletics we had to do six activities. Long jump, high jump, long distance running, shot put, javalin / vortex and hurdles.

  • Athletics Reflection:
    • What was the most enjoyable part of athletics for you? The part that I enjoyed was high jump because even though I was not good at it I tried my hardest.
    • What are you really proud of? Why? Im really proud of myself because even though I felt sick I kept going till the end.
    • What was the most challenging part? Why? the most challenging part for me was shot put because the ball was so heavy and I didn't know it would be so heavy.
    • Where to now? What are your goals for next time? Why do you want to focus on this? My goal is to jump 1.30 on the high jump like Jonty did.

writing portfolio post

Description: every week we do writing with nic and we had to make a poster or something to perswade the reader not to poulltute our rivers or make it so all the fish die out because we don't want that to happen.

 Perswasive writing; this is outrageous do not poult our rivers it will kill fish and make all our life die in the rivers , eels , trout... and the rivers will make the rubbish go out to the sea and poult that as well.

Excellence post

Description: excellence is about striving our hardest doing your best and if something's hard never give up. We had a excellence assessment about how we were doing with excellence in our learning and how our buddy is doing with it as well.

discovey time

Every monday we do discovery time. Discovery time is where we get lots of choices and we have to discover how to do it how they work what is the purpose. I did electionics first we looked at the amplifiers I was hoping they was broken so we take them apart but they were working fine then we pulled apart a fan I sadly missed out because I was at catch me and that's what I did because got no more time after that. 

I learnt you have to fit the right parts in the right place or the electionic machine or device would not work

Sea turtle writing portfolio sample

We have been writing about Sea turtles. We watched a video and we had to first write it then re craft it and get it to the best it can be and practice my detail like making it a better story. Also when we first wrote the story we had a draft in a book and then moved over to harder stuff and I embed mine, just saying.
I found it a little bit interesting because before I saw the video I barely knew anything about sea turtles except I knew that they laid a lot of eggs. I am shocked because out of 1000 eggs only 2 survive til breeding age.

This is a summary of my writing, the most important stuff that I think everyone should know

Music / band

Every Tuesday at 8:00 we have to go to the art space for Band practice. I play the electric guitar but have been playing the guitar for 2 years I only use the electric guitar for band practice. We are doing 2 songs

E T Reo

Every Monday I do guitar for Kapa Haka and Hunter does it is well. We have to back up Nic with the guitar. We have to do a lot of strumming for it it also helps me get better at the guitar. WE have been asked because we are in the band and we are good at guitar.

Maths Knowlege Post

 In maths we had to take a knowledge test and my thoughts are of how I went in the test. ---> I think I did well because I started at 78% in stage 5 now I am at 96% and in stage 6 with 36% percent. Over all I think I did amazing for my Skills Last year I was in stage 5 at 78% now.

Evaluation: I'm in stage 6 with 36% in that stage 5 test I did this year I got 96% I learnt from Mistakes but mistakes helped me grow bigger in learning now I can Move on and bigger and my new goal is to get in stage seven learning.

Lego Mixels Math portfoilo post

In Elly's maths group we are learning fractions the problem was a Lego Mixels Math problem we started with three hundred blocks and had to devide them into fractions this is what I did to work it out but it was like how many blocks are 1/4 etc...

handwriting sample

Description : My writing is legible and it is accurate and i know i need to work on being fast because i did not finish my sample. Accurate means its all on the line and is got all the comers and fullstops etc . Legible means its easy to read.

Buddy art

Description: Most people would think that art is a portrait or landscape or a drawing but it can be something else Sarah Platt made me change my way of thinking us humans should try another way of art not being lazy
being someone who trys it not someone that go's I don't want to. I worked with Billy and Ethan on the art and first we had to do a draft of it then we started on the good copy we first did outlines in pencil. After that we had to trace the outlines with vivid and then we painted it, Or did the colour.


Evaluation: I worked really well and I think I did quite well at getting it done because I did the most work.
I found hard when no one was listening to me and I was missing out on learning at the end while doing it.

2016 Camp Portfolio post

Description: Last week the year 5's & 6's went on the bus to go to Waikanae where El Rancho is. When we got there we split up into our activity groups and did the discover El Rancho. There were ten activities in total. They included rifles, horses, mini golf, archery, water slide and many more. We also had a camp diary that we had to fill out each night to record what we did each day. We had to make our beds when we got there and then we had to pack them up when we left. At camp we had a list of jobs to do like cleaning Toliets, setting up for breakfast and lunch and dinner. Doing all the jobs that had to be done when we left.
My favorite activity was rifles because I hit a nine on the bullseye and some two's. I also made some new friends. Making new friends was one of my highlights. We also had a bonfire at camp with smores. A smore is a biscut sandwich with marsh mellows in it.

one word portfoilo sample

Description: In class we had to choose a one word for 2016. The one word revolves around our learning and its like a goal put into one word. Then had to share it on twitter. My one word is control. I chose this word because I need to control what I do and how I use my time. After that we did some art. The art was a sign with our one word on it. Step one we measured out the size of our arms to make our signs. We then had to practice in our writers notebook. Then we had to start our good copy and stick it to our photo.

Listening Portfolio sample.

Description : Last week on Friday we had a deadline of thirty minutes to get a video about the three types of listening. active listening , busy listening and me too listening. The other part of the task was getting it on Youtube.


Big idea: In our learning we had to show three types of listening first active listening active listening is two people having a proper comversation. Busy Listening is one person talking and the other person not paying attention. Me too listening is someone talking about something and the other person butting in your comverstion.

Feedback/FeedForward :  I Think you did well In recording next time you need to make it louder. Rebekah.

Evalution: I think I did great job on recording but I think I could do better. I think i need to work on getting the editing and finish it proplery and not just a rush.

Treaty post

Description:  we made a creation to learn from the treaty of Waitangi to find out more about the actual treaty.   we had a rubric that helped us find out what stage of learning we are on. We had levels on the rubric 1 Pre was adding only one piece of information that did not explain much about the treaty. 2 Uni was adding two pieces of information about the treaty. 3 in Multi we had to have three blocks of information about the Treaty of Waitangi. 4 Relational is putting in 3 or more connected facts to the Treaty. 5 Extended abstract is going beyond the treaty of Waitingi and applying to real problems and situations in the world. The Creation I made was a Treaty.


Big idea: I learnt that there are lots of diffrent conrties have a national day like Waitangi day and some coutries don't.  Also The treaty changed our lives when that boat sailed here everything changed our lives the way we talked, changed our thinking remeber that it made new zealand how it is now

Feedforward/feedback: I think you did good on the signing the treaty. i think Miko should make the treaty burn more. Billy

Evaluation: I think i did well on my treaty next time i think i could work on getting it signed before lamernated. I Think I'm on Uni because i did not include much facts about the Treaty.
